Accelerating the green transition

Biorefinery technology

Biorefinery technology will be pivotal in the green transition. Within the next 5 to 10 years, it is expected to become essential across almost every industry, driving both sustainability and innovation. The market for plant-based consumer products is projected to grow at a 15% (CAGR) over the next decade, with the biopharma sector alone growing by 19%.

Re-generative bioeconomy

Biorefinery is a centerpiece in regenerative systems.

Multi-product biorefinery valorises plant-based biomass

Our multi-product biorefinery valorises plant-based biomass. This incentivizes farmers and companies to migrate towards plant based. One biomass is fractionated into multiple components that can then feed into different products. Waste streams are eliminated

The newest biorefinery technology

We extract high-value bioactive phytochemicals. We perform qualitatively and quantitative analysis and separation of them and thereby discover and develop new types of plant-based products and solutions. We extract on lignified plant biomass, normally waste.

The Halorefine Biorefinery

Our biorefinery technology is fossil free, and more efficient too. It is modular and mobile and therefore able to operate on farms, local, and in circular systems around the world and thereby greatly reduce the fossil footprint of value chain logistics. The picture shows a biorefinery facility placed in a 40 feet container.

Learn more about us & our team

We are a university spin-off with over 20 years of R&D experience in biomass fractioning and bio-active extraction. Our comprehensive analytical platform and infrastructure place us at the forefront of understanding extractive compounds, including their characterization, processing, stabilization, and applications.

Is regenerative economy the same as circular economy?

While the circular economy is concerned with the present and the minimising waste within existing systems, the regenerative economy takes a longer-term perspective, aiming to transform fundamental relationships between humans and the environment. Regenerative systems are “building” nature as main outcome.
